Now is the Time to Quit Smoking

We can only hope that the baby boomer generation will be the last one who grew up in a culture where smoking was cool and acceptable.  The health passion of baby boomers that comes out of their dislike of anything that accelerates the aging process is one of the reasons the anti smoking movement has gained strength in the last decade.  The reasons for quitting smoke are well known to anyone who has paid attention to the issue at all.

Smoking and Teens: The Risks

Smoking is the cause of many diseases and kills about four hundred and forty two thousand people every year in the United States. In spite of anti smoking campaigns and billboard warnings, more and more people are joining the bandwagon of smokers every year. Out of the total number of new smokers, ninety percent are children and teenagers, replacing smokers who have quit or died early due to a disease caused by smoking. Smoking is the top cause of preventable and premature deaths, followed by obesity.

Health risks of petroleum and mineral oils in cosmetics

Petroleum is frequently used as an ingredient in cosmetics, and it’s made from the very same stuff stuff you find in styrofoam and gasoline. Mineral oil is also common in cosmetics, and it too comes from fossil fuels. Neither product is green in terms of the carbon emissions involved in obtaining and refining them, neither is particularly good for your skin (they clog pores), and both of them can be replaced with healthier, greener ingredients.
